Senators recall Jim O'Brien from Binghamton (AHL)

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 3, 2012) - The Ottawa Senators today recalled forward Jim O'Brien from the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.

The recall is the 23-year-old O'Brien's first of the 2011-12 campaign. In six National Hockey League games with Ottawa last season, he recorded no points, two penalty minutes and 11 shots on goal.

A native of Maplewood, Minn., O'Brien has scored seven goals while adding seven assists and 10 penalty minutes in 27 games with the B-Sens this season. O'Brien returned to Binghamton's lineup on Jan. 7 after missing 19 games with a foot injury suffered in November. Following his return from injury, he has scored five goals and eight points in eight games.

The Senators next see action this evening when they host the New York Islanders at 7:30 p.m.
