Senators Tee-Off at 14th Annual Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 12, 2007) - The Ottawa Senators announced today players and coaches will take to the links on Friday, Sept. 14, at The Marshes Golf Club for the 14th Annual Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic, which has raised more than $850,000 over the past 13 years.

Bell Canada and the Ottawa Senators Foundation announced in May 2006 a commitment to raise $1 million for the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) over a five-year period. The 14th Annual Bell/Ottawa Senators Charity Golf Classic, which is the club's first official public function of the season, is one of the events that will help Bell and the Ottawa Senators Foundation fulfill the million-dollar goal.

To get the ball rolling at 10 a.m., team captain Daniel Alfredsson and his teammate Wade Redden will face off in a fun putting contest with twin brothers Branden and Michael McCall, who use CHEO for treatment of their cystic fibrosis.

"It's an annual tradition at this tournament for our players to invite some of the children out to the course that we're raising money for," said Roy Mlakar, Senators CEO and president. "And while this fun contest is nothing compared to the challenge that these kids face each and every day, it's a great opportunity to remind everyone why we've all come together for the day."

Interviews with players will take place at the golf course from 10:20 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. prior to the 11 a.m. shotgun start. A complete list of players, staff, management and alumni will be available at the registration desk, which opens at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

The 6 p.m. tournament reception and dinner at Scotiabank Place's Club Red Restaurant, will begin with remarks from Mlakar, as well as Gary Cameron, president of Bell Security Solutions. The evening will wrap up with live auctions, raffle winners and cheque presentations.
