Senators Tickets Getting Scarce - Sales Soar at Record-Breaking Pace

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 19, 2007) - Combining Saturday's brisk on-sale of single-game tickets for the first 15 regular-season home matches and a record number of season ticket subscribers, the Ottawa Senators announced today that five of the 15 games are already nearing sell-out status.

With season-ticket equivalents at 12,600, and expected to top the 13,000 mark by the home-opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, Oct. 4, Senators fans purchased more than 19,000 tickets on Saturday alone for the first 15 regular-season games. This is 6,000 more tickets than last year's record-setting mark.

"With the increase in season-ticket holders and single-game buyers, we're almost 15 to 25 per cent ahead, depending on the game," said Senators vice-president of marketing Jeff Kyle. "Fans in Hockey Country are as excited as ever for the team to return to the ice. They showed their enthusiasm in welcoming the team back at Fan Fest on Sunday and at the ticket counter."

The Senators open their 2007-08 regular-season home schedule on Thursday, Oct. 4, against the Toronto Maple Leafs. "Tickets are still available for the season home-opener and also the club's three pre-season games," added Kyle, "But we only have 350 tickets available for the first Battle of Ontario at Scotiabank Place, whereas last year we had 3,500 available." In addition, both home dates against the Montreal Canadiens on Oct. 18 and Nov. 10 have fewer than 500 tickets remaining for each game.

Ottawa hosts the Washington Capitals in pre-season action Thursday, Sept. 20, the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, Sept. 25, and the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, Sept. 29.

Tickets can be purchased online at; by phone at 613-599-FANS (3267) or 1-877-788-FANS (3267); in person at any Sport Experts location in the Ottawa-Gatineau area and at the Scotiabank Place box office.

Tickets to home games for December and January go on sale Saturday, Nov. 10, while tickets for home games between February and April go on sale Saturday, Jan. 12.
