Senators to Host 'Be Red' Car Rally

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 9, 2007) - The Ottawa Senators announced today they will host the inaugural Be Red Car Rally on Tuesday, April 10. Spartacat, the Senators ambassador of fun, will be leading the car rally, which will start at Scotiabank Place at 11:30 a.m.

A convoy of cars will travel from Scotiabank Place to Ottawa City Hall, where Ottawa mayor Larry O'Brien will conclude the event by raising a Senators flag at 12:30 p.m.

Sens fans are asked to decorate cars, fly car flags and dress up in Senators gear. The top 30 decorated cars, as determined by a panel of judges, will be given a spot in the convoy and will be guaranteed parking at Ottawa City Hall(i). The top three decorated cars will win one of three pairs of tickets to the first Senators home game of the 2007 playoffs.

Where: Scotiabank Place, Gate 1, Frank Finnigan Way

When: Tuesday, April 10, 2007. Participants are asked to arrive by 10:30 a.m.

Timeline: Leave Scotiabank Place at 11:30 a.m.; arrive at Ottawa City Hall by 12:15 p.m. Ottawa mayor Larry O'Brien will raise the Senators flag at 12:30 p.m.

Note: No official convoy will travel back to Scotiabank Place.

(i) Prizing and participants will be determined by the judges in their sole discretion. The decisions of the judges shall be final and binding and may not be challenged in any way. Limited spots available. The car rally will take place rain or shine.

Dan Sidoli Named Winner Of 'Be Red' Song Contest

The Senators congratulate Dan Sidoli, who won the Be Red playoff song contest, where fans were invited to compose and perform an original song. Sidoli wrote the winning submission 'Be Red' and the song was performed by local group The Durtz. A panel of judges reviewed all of the entries and declared Sidoli's submission as the winner. The Senators are shooting a music video with the winners, with the debut of the video to come during game one of the Senators playoff series against Pittsburgh on Wednesday, April 11.
