Senators to host Fan Fest presented by Canadian Tire on Saturday, Sept. 21

Annual free event includes a Senators intra-squad game, autograph sessions, fans news conference, the Sens Street Tour and more

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 12, 2013) - The Ottawa Senators' Fan Fest, presented by Canadian Tire, returns to Canadian Tire Centre on Saturday, Sept. 21, to help launch the 2013-14 season. The event will feature a Senators' intra-squad game, the Sens Street Tour, a Senators' game used equipment and jersey sale, a fans only press conference and entertainment throughout the arena.

Fan Fest begins outdoors on the Gate 1 plaza at 9 a.m. with a number of interactive components from the Sens Street Tour while entertainers such as balloonists and face-painters welcome fans to Canadian Tire Centre. The Sens Store will have a special set-up to sell new and used team equipment and game worn jerseys in the tent outside of Gate 1. The sale will include items such as game-used skates, gloves and sticks along with jerseys from the 2012-13 season.

Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to Canadian Tire Centre as the Ottawa Food Bank will be accepting food and donations to help stock its cupboards for the upcoming fall season. The first 5,000 children (14 and under) in attendance will also receive a Senators poster.

Fans will then get the chance to watch Senators players take to the ice for two open practices (10 a.m. and 12:25 p.m.) along with an intra-squad game, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

At 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., Senators players will participate in autograph sessions for season seat owners and fans. The Senators will institute a wristband policy for each autograph session. Wristbands will be distributed in limited quantities beginning at 9 a.m. on the 200 level concourse and are subject to availability.

Finally, at 1:30 p.m. fans will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive "Fans Only" news conference with Senators players. Moderated by Sens TV host Gord Wilson, fans will have the opportunity ask questions of the participating players.

Free parking is available throughout the day at Canadian Tire Centre. Festivities will conclude at approximately 3:30 p.m.
