SENATORS TO HOST FOOD DRIVE ON NOV. 20

Non-perishable food items and monetary donations to support area food banks

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 15, 2006) - The Ottawa Senators announced today that they will be hosting a food drive on Monday, Nov. 20, at the Senators game against the Minnesota Wild.

Volunteers from The Ottawa Food Bank will be on hand when the gates at Scotiabank Place open to accept non-perishable food items and monetary donations to help assist those less fortunate. Portions of the donations that are received will be used to support The Kanata Food Cupboard.

The Senators hope to continue the success achieved in their food drive during FanFest prior to the season, when 2 1/4 tonnes of food and $2,000 were donated to The Ottawa Food Bank by Sens fans.

Gates open for the Senators game against Minnesota on Monday, Nov. 20, at 5:30 p.m.
