Senators to host Toy Drive on Dec. 9

Toys collected to support Ottawa children

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 2, 2006) - The Ottawa Senators today announced their participation in Toy Mountain, an annual campaign founded by CTV Ottawa and Majic 100 Radio through the Salvation Army. On Saturday, Dec. 9, the Senators will hold a toy drive at their game against the New York Rangers.

Scotiabank Place patrons are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys for childen up to 12 years old to the Senators' game, with the donations going to benefit less fortunate children this holiday season. Toys will be accepted at any entrance of the building. The Toy Mountain initiative strives toward providing toys to close to 11,000 children in the Ottawa region this year.

The game on Dec. 9 will be the first of six Senators 3 p.m. matchups this season, with gates opening at 1 p.m.

The Senators team photo giveaway, originally scheduled to take place on Dec. 9, has been re-scheduled for Thursday, April 5, for the Senators 7:30 p.m. game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
