Send Word Now's Customized Alerting Service Achieves DIACAP Certification

The Certification Recognizes That a Version of Send Word Now's Alerting Platform has Met Stringent Security Requirements Set Forth by the United States Department of Defense

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Apr 21, 2011) - Send Word Now, the leading worldwide provider of emergency notification and incident management services, announced today that a customized version of its service is now certified for compliance with the United States Department of Defense (DoD) security and risk management requirements, as tested and verified by the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP).

DIACAP certification is an intensive and stringent requirement for all information technology systems that operate on a DoD network. Federal and state agencies throughout the United States also rely on a DIACAP certification as a benchmark for internal security standards and as an assurance that a given system can be depended upon for internal use.

The customized version of the Send Word Now service, which is available to DoD customers exclusively through Send Word Now's partnership with TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS), has received DIACAP Certification and Accreditation and the full Authority to Operate from the Army Chief Information Officer/G-6 for use on DoD IT systems. The certification will allow all divisions of the DoD to use the customized version of Send Word Now for on-demand alerting and response services.
