Sensinode Ltd. Releases Updated Software Libraries for Texas Instruments Chips; Enables Large-Scale Embedded Internet Applications

New Nanostack(TM) 2.0 Release Speeds Time-to-Product for Internet of Things Applications on TI CC2530 and CC430 Single-Chip Solutions

OULU, FINLAND--(Marketwire - Aug 9, 2011) - Sensinode Ltd., a leading provider of software that powers the Internet of Things, today announced release of its Nanostack™ 2.0 Library for two hardware platforms from Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI); the CC2530 2.4Ghz radio frequency system-on-chip (SOC) and the sub-1 GHz CC430 SOC family, combining MSP MCUs and CC1101 RF transceivers, for ultra-low-power wireless network applications. With the updated release of Nanostack™ 2.0, developers can quickly implement embedded Internet applications that leverage LPRF technology in hugely scalable mesh networks.

The Sensinode Nanostack 2.0 Library includes all required software to configure network nodes compliant with the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) 6LoWPAN specification (RFC4944) and related standards. This core technology enables IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) connectivity to IEEE 802.15.4 wireless network devices.

"We are proud to collaborate with Sensinode to provide TI customers with access to the critical tools that help them achieve design goals and speed time to market," said Mark Grazier, LPRF program manager, TI. "TI's LPRF platforms and SOCs provide the foundation for smart devices that span various markets -- from wireless sensing and lighting, to building automation, smart-energy applications and more. With proven scalability and a global support ecosystem for native IP networking, Sensinode's updated Nanostack 2.0 libraries will provide all-new avenues for connected devices based on TI's mature solutions."

Sensinode has worked with TI across a variety of product families to provide developers with the ability to integrate native IP communication with LPRF networking. With the release of the Nanostack 2.0 Libraries for two of TI's most popular LPRF product families, system developers can readily combine embedded Internet functionality with their own embedded application code.

Nanostack 2.0 features the industry's smallest code footprint with extreme robustness, support for AES link-layer security and execution of the most recently defined enhancements to the IETF standards. Elements of the Nanostack 2.0 Library include Network Layer (6LoWPAN) and Transport Layer (TCP/UDP) protocols, full 802.15.4 MAC layer support and AES-CCM link layer security.
