SENSIO Creates a Strong Impression by Presenting a Full HD 3D Consumer Solution on Blu-Ray and Signs an Agreement With Simplay Labs

At the Consumer Electronic Show

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Jan. 22, 2008) - SENSIO Technologies Inc. ("SENSIO") (TSX VENTURE:SIO) once again distinguished itself at the 2008 Consumer Electronic Show (CES), where 3D enjoyed a much greater presence than usual with, among other things, the unveiling of different 3D televisions by various manufacturers. This being said, manufacturer interest for the SENSIO®3D technology is greater than ever. "Our SENSIO®3D presentation on a Blu-Ray player and a Mitsubishi 3D television clearly showed the quality and simplicity of the SENSIO®3D technology and attracted strong interest. But the highlight was unquestionably the unveiling of SpectronIQ's 3D television, which integrates the SENSIO®3D technology, a first fully-integrated solution for consumers", explains Nicholas Routhier, President and CEO.

Simplay Labs - A First Step Towards Standardization

A Letter of Intent was signed with Simplay Labs, a division of Silicon Image, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIMG), to allow devices using the HDMI standard to automatically recognize and process information encoded in SENSIO format. This solution is aimed at simplifying the viewing of 3D stereoscopic content for the consumer. It will then be possible to insert a SENSIO®3D movie into a video player and via the connector, the television will automatically go into 3D mode, making it more user-friendly.

"This approach was undertaken at the request of manufacturers seeking a simplified consumer experience. The announced alliance with Simplay certainly brings us closer to our objective of becoming the 3D standard, as for the very first time, we are entering into a concrete standardization process."

SENSIO a Panelist at the CES

SENSIO's President and CEO, Mr. Routhier, took part in the first panel on 3D organized at the CES. Invited along with panelists from IBM, Texas Instruments and the National Basketball Association, Mr. Routhier seized this opportunity to present his Company to industry members. "We were honored to share the panel with such well-known and prestigious companies. This provided exceptional visibility for us with industry players and we feel that the selection of SENSIO by CES organizers shows the credibility we have managed to establish within the sector."

Demonstration at the CES

At the CES and for the very first time, SENSIO presented a complete HD 3D consumer solution. It presented excerpts from two recent 3D Disney movies, Meet The Robinsons and The Nightmare Before Christmas, with a Blu-Ray player on Mitsubishi's DLP television. "We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to present excerpts from box-office movies. This confirms the excellent relations we have established with the studios over the years and is a great prelude for the future", explains Richard LaBerge, Executive Vice-President and CMO.

For these demonstrations, the latest 3D television technologies once again showed the great versatility of the SENSIO®3D technology. Therefore, Mitsubishi's DLP television, SpectronIQ's LCD television (the first to integrate the SENSIO®3D technology) as well as JVC's high-end dual projector system were used to simultaneously present 3D content from a unique 3D source.

Founded in 1999, SENSIO, headquartered in Montreal, Canada, develops and markets forward-looking stereoscopic technologies designed to offer the most advanced and immersive cinematographic experience available. Its flagship technology, SENSIO®3D, allows the high-quality distribution of 3D content through conventional 2D channels and playback on any display device, including plasma TVs, HDTV and glass-free 3D displays.
