Sensplex Facilities unveil White Hot Hockey in partnership with Senators alumnus Todd White

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 24, 2014) - In partnership with Kanata native and former Ottawa Senators forward Todd White, the Bell Sensplex and Richcraft Sensplex have announced the launch of the White Hot Hockey program which has been exclusively designed by the 13-year NHL veteran with an aim of benefiting high-calibre players (both boys and girls) at novice, atom and peewee levels of hockey who are committed to development.

A new component within the Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs lineup, White Hot Hockey will see White, a current minor hockey coach with the Kanata Minor Hockey Association, lead each on-ice session while a team of senior and guest instructors will also be featured throughout the series' duration. Peter Ambroziak, the head of hockey development for Ottawa Senators Hockey Programs and a former NHL player will continue to design and oversee all other individual programs at the Sensplex facilities.

"While my NHL career ended in 2011, my passion for the game of hockey is unwaivering," said White. "This program is geared specifically towards competitive players who have a keen interest in improving each facet of their own game. I will rely on the knowledge and skills I acquired throughout an extensive professional career to help these young individuals improve as the program evolves. To be able to form this partnership with the Senators, a team that afforded me an opportunity to play NHL hockey in my hometown, is something about which I'm very excited."

"Todd is routinely one of the most passionate guest instructors at our annual Ottawa Senators Summer Hockey Camps," said Sensplex director, hockey programs Andy Bryan. "His engagement and sincerity lends itself to an approach that will most certainly be successful with elite level players in this region. We're thrilled to add Todd and White Hot Hockey to what we believe is the most diverse minor hockey development program offering in the city."

The inaugural White Hot Hockey program is set to take place from March 12 to 14 as part of a March Break camp with ice-only sessions at the Bell Sensplex. The series will also feature a 10-week spring skill development program, a late summer six-week program and four six-week in-season skill development sessions which will begin in the fall of 2014. White Hot Hockey will be hosted exclusively at the Bell Sensplex in Kanata or out of the new state-of-the-art Richcraft Sensplex in east Ottawa which is scheduled to open in early August of this year.
