Sentry Data Systems Completes SOC 3 Examination

Demonstrates Commitment to Protecting Data for Hospitals, Health Systems and Pharmacies

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL--(Marketwired - May 14, 2014) - Sentry Data Systems, Inc. recently completed a Service Organization Control 3(SM) examination, making the company the first vendor in the 340B space to achieve this distinction. Sentry's SOC 3 report indicates that Sentry's management maintained effective controls over the availability, security, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy of its SaaS-based Sentinel™ and Sentrex™ solutions for the time period of January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013.

"At its core, Sentry is a data company -- and we've always placed a high value on the security of our customers' data and the high availability of our processing platform," says Travis Leonardi, CEO and founder of Sentry Data Systems. "We process data for an average of 3.2 million drug dispensations a day, so we need to be fast and we need to be secure. The SOC 3 report provides an extra level of comfort for our customers and demonstrates our commitment to protecting their data."

Sentry's SOC 3 examination was performed by the independent CPA firm, DaszkalBolton, LLP, based on American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Trust Services Principles and Criteria for Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy. Current and prospective customers interested in a copy of Sentry's SOC 3(SM) report can download it here.

Sentry also completed its SSAE 16 SOC 1 examination for the same time period as the SOC 3, marking the third consecutive year that Sentry has completed the SOC 1. The SOC 1 details the controls in place at Sentry relevant to financial reporting, and is available upon request to Sentinel and Sentrex customer organizations and their independent auditors, subject to completion of a non-disclosure agreement.
