Sentry Investments partners with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment

First project: New games court to benefit children and youth in Toronto's St. James Town community

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - February 18, 2015) - Sentry Investments ("Sentry"), and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment ("MLSE") are pleased to announce an exciting new partnership that establishes Sentry as an official partner of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors, Air Canada Centre and MLSE for the next three years.

A primary goal of the partnership is to improve the lives of children and youth through sport and education, with particular focus on those living in at-risk communities. Sentry has announced a $65,000 donation to build a multi-purpose games court for the residents of St. James Town. Sentry is working closely on the project with Community Matters Toronto, an organization dedicated to building a stronger and healthier community for St. James Town residents. In recognition of Sentry's contribution, the MLSE Foundation will also grant $25,000 to Community Matters Toronto to support the project.

"We're delighted to work with MLSE and Community Matters to build the new St. James Town Multipurpose Games Court, a place where children and youth will be able to enjoy sports and recreational programming year-round," said Sean Driscoll, Chief Executive Officer, Sentry Investments. "We will continue to look at other opportunities where we can partner with MLSE and give back to the communities where we live and work."

St. James Town is a community of more than 30,000 people living in an area less than one square kilometre, making it Canada's most densely populated community and one of the most densely populated neighbourhoods in North America. The games court will feature basketball, soccer, tennis and volleyball facilities, providing a much-needed space for children and youth to play, make friends and learn vital life skills. Sports equipment will also be provided.

"MLSE and the MLSE Foundation are proud to be partnering with Sentry," said Michael Bartlett, Senior Director, Corporate Responsibility, MLSE. "This project aligns with our commitment to improving kids' lives through sport and we look forward to the ribbon-cutting ceremony when the court is open for games."

Work is already underway to develop the St. James Town Multipurpose Games Court and the full project is scheduled to be completed by summer 2015.
