Sepialine and HP Deliver Tracking Solution for the New HP Designjet 4000 Printer Series

LAS VEGAS, NV -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 12, 2005 -- IRgA Booth 810 -- Sepialine™ -- a leading provider of Cost Recovery solutions -- today announced support for the HP Designjet 4000 Printer series, HP's new large-format printer designed for the architecture, engineering, construction, MCAD and GIS markets. Sepialine and HP collaborated to ensure compatibility between Sepialine's award-winning Argos™ Cost Recovery Platform and the HP Designjet 4000 Printer series, with the combined offering delivering unprecedented full-color speed, accuracy and business insight for graphics and design professionals.

Cost recovery solutions from Sepialine help customers capture vital statistics about office expenses such as printing, copying and scanning. Sepialine's unique approach includes industry firsts -- such as quotas, snooze and messaging -- all designed to preserve workflow, and yet ensure that all expenses are tracked. With a solid cost recovery strategy, office technologies once thought of as cost centers become profit centers.

With HP's new Double Swath technology, the HP Designjet 4000 significantly increases the speed and throughput of large format inkjet printers, without compromising quality. "Double the speed means double the output," said Jeremy Evans, Sepialine CEO and co-founder. "That's when cost recovery becomes important, and that's why we worked so closely with HP to ensure that customers can track their HP Designjet 4000 printing more easily and accurately."

Atlanta-based Imaging Technologies is a company that understands the importance of accurate tracking. "As a leading on-site service provider, accurate tracking is central not only to our business, but it's important for our customers as well," said Chase Brock, Director of Technical Services for Imaging Technologies. "Sepialine delivers a comprehensive solution that suits us and our customers. As a reseller of HP Designjet solutions, we are pleased that Sepialine and HP are working together to ensure that the next generation of HP printers work seamlessly with our cost recovery solution of choice."

The collaborative effort between Sepialine and HP enables the HP Designjet 4000 Printer series to offer the statistics and information necessary for robust tracking and reporting.

The HP Designjet 4000 Printer series incorporates a new on-board controller that gives access to key print job statistics. Significantly, the HP Designjet 4000 provides ink consumption information which Sepialine leverages to provide two tracking options:

-- Native Sepialine print tracking software captures the HP Designjet
4000 as a standard printer. Statistics such as page width, height,
quantity, username, filename and date/time are reported to the Sepialine
-- Extended Sepialine support for the HP Designjet 4000 leverages ink
density data to distinguish between different jobs types, such as line art,
high resolution photos and illustrations. Job costing can be calculated
differently, depending on the density of the job, allowing customers to
more accurately reflect the true cost of a wide variety of different
printing styles. Ink density tracking is unique to the HP Designjet 4000,
sold as an add-on to the core Sepialine platform and used in tandem with,
or in lieu of, native Sepialine tracking.
"As cost recovery becomes increasingly important, HP is partnering with industry leaders," said Ana Izquierdo, marketing director, HP Large Format business. "That's why we're pleased to work with Sepialine. Their job accounting and cost-tracking solutions are a great complement to our products."
