Serengeti Commences 2008 Drill Program at Kwanika, Wins Northern BC Prospector Award

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 21, 2008) - Serengeti Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SIR) is pleased to report that its 2008 Phase I, 10,000 m drill program started on January 14th, 2008 to test extensions of the main copper-gold zone in addition to other targets on the Kwanika property. President David Moore stated, "We are pleased to resume drilling at Kwanika and continue the growth of this exciting prospect." Initial environmental and archeological studies are underway and preliminary metallurgical testing is planned.

Results of the remaining 12 holes of the 2007 program are expected by early February. "Upon receipt and integration of these assays, we will be able to determine the full magnitude of the drill program required to enable the calculation of a N.I. 43-101 compliant resource by 2008 year end," specified Moore.

The Company is also very pleased to announce that it has been awarded the 2008 Prospector or Developer of the Year award by the Northern British Columbia Business & Technology Council. The award recognizes perseverance and determination by a prospector or developer and was awarded for Serengeti's copper-gold discovery at Kwanika.
