Server Load Balancing Engineer and Author Tony Bourke Joins KEMP Technologies

BETHPAGE, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 16, 2005 -- KEMP Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of affordable server load balancing and SSL acceleration solutions, today announced that Tony Bourke, author of the definitive book "Server Load Balancing," published by O'Reilly Media, has joined KEMP as a senior engineer supporting KEMP's load balancing and SSL acceleration technology.

For more than nine years, Bourke has been a highly visible private consultant specializing in practical use of SSL security, load balancing and other acceleration appliances. He has held positions at SiteSmith, GlocalCenter and Digex. A frequent freelance contributor, his articles have appeared in Sys Admin Magazine, Hostingtech Magazine and Network World. Bourke is considered one of the leading authorities on the topic of server load balancing and frequently speaks at conferences around the world.

Since 2003, KEMP Technologies has been breaking the price barrier that, prior to KEMP, has kept server load balancing out of the reach of small and medium businesses. Increasingly these companies are expanding their presence on the Internet in e-commerce other transaction based businesses.

"Over the past five years, server load balancing appliances have been a mandatory component of the e-business infrastructure for Fortune 1000 enterprise organizations," said Bourke. "KEMP Technologies is tackling a new frontier to bring this same advantage to businesses of every size, at a price everyone can afford. I'm excited to offer my expertise to guide these organizations in how to choose and implement the appliances that will increase the efficiency of their Internet Traffic Management systems."

Bourke will lead KEMP in areas of infrastructure and security infrastructure product offerings as well as lend his expertise to the marketplace through conferences, end-user presentations, white papers and other media events as KEMP increases its market presence with these SMB customers who are enhancing their technology infrastructure to compete online.

"The chief barrier to entry for these organizations has been price, but the complexity of installing, configuring and maintaining server load balancing software is also a barrier," said Bourke. "At the high end of the market there are a range of technologies available providing excessive levels at a high total cost of ownership (TCO) in optimizing traffic content. Most organizations, however, do not require or desire this level of granularity, and will be more likely to take advantage of a simpler implementation that provides just the right level of technology for their implementations at a price they can afford."
