Service Executive Industry Board Adds Three Industry Experts to Support the Standards Process and Thought Leadership

Jeff Wells, Paula Summa and Tony Marshall Join the Influential Board

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - March 31, 2011) - ServiceSource®, a global leader in cloud-enabled service revenue performance solutions, and the Service Executive Industry Board (SEIB), today announced Jeff Wells, senior director of service sales & B2B e-Commerce for Symantec; Paula Summa, general manager, inside sales, IBM; and Tony Marshall, vice president, North American services, Motorola Solutions, will join the SEIB, effective immediately.

The SEIB was formed as an independent industry body to share best practices, address industry issues, and shape the future direction of service, subscription revenue and customer value for high tech, healthcare and life sciences vendors.

"The addition of Jeff Wells, Paula Summa and Tony Marshall marks a significant milestone for SEIB; they each bring a unique perspective on the growing industry of service renewals and have extensive experience that will help further the SEIB's goal of establishing counsel and expert education in the industry," said Mike Smerklo, CEO of ServiceSource and Chair of the SEIB. "I believe I speak for the entire board when I say how pleased we are to have Jeff, Paula and Tony joining this service industry think tank."

As an industry expert with more than 20 years of experience in sales and 10 years of service renewals expertise, Wells brings a unique and inside perspective to the SEIB executive board, contributing to the expanding knowledge pool of the founding members. Like Wells, Summa brings more than 30 years of experience to the SEIB and adds a unique leadership perspective from her role managing a 5,000 person team responsible for approximately 11 percent of IBM's total revenue. In addition to Wells and Summa, Marshall also adds more than 30 years of expertise in the service industry from his role as vice president of systems integration and services at Motorola Solutions.

"I'm excited to add my background and experience to the SEIB board," said Jeff Wells. "The mission of the SEIB has never been more important as there is a lack of service industry standards and best practices around driving recurring service revenue and delivering higher levels of customer satisfaction. I am excited to join this illustrious board of experts, and will continue to provide insight and promote the work being accomplished by this important organization."

"I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute experience to the development of service industry standards with the SEIB board," said Paula Summa. "The ability to tackle common service revenue roadblocks is an exciting challenge that I'm looking forward to addressing."

"With my background in the telecommunications industry, I'm eager to bring a fresh perspective to the SEIB board," said Tony Marshall. "It's an exciting opportunity to work on key industry hot spots and further develop best practices with such a diverse and talented board."

Wells, Summa and Marshall make the latest additions to the team of seasoned industry leaders on the SEIB board, including:

  • Jay Ackerman, Chief Services Officer, ServiceSource
