Servus attempts Guinness World Record while raising funds for KidSport

EDMONTON, AB--(Marketwired - June 16, 2017) - On June 20, 2017 Servus Credit Union invites the public to help break a Guinness World Record, while celebrating Servus Circle Day.

In celebration of Servus Circle Day, Servus plans to break the Guinness World Record for the largest human currency symbol at Servus's corporate centre (151 Karl Clark Road) in Edmonton, Alberta. We need at least 2000 people to break this record. Servus Credit Union will donate $1 to KidSport for every person who is part of the Guinness World Record attempt. Donations to KidSport help to make a difference in children's lives, who cannot participate in organized sports due to financial barriers.

"Servus Circle Day is about bringing our communities together, to show that we can accomplish extraordinary things. Like the attempt to break a World Record with the largest human currency symbol," says Gail Stepanik-Keber, Chief Brand, Digital Banking and Corporate Social Responsibility Officer at Servus Credit Union. "If we are successful in our attempt, it will truly be an example of people coming together to do something extraordinary."

The Servus' Circle Day event includes games, freebies, a caricature artist and the chance to win one of two BBQ prize packages. Local food trucks will be on site to purchase food from and the NOW! Trucksicle will be giving away popsicles during the event. CTV's Josh Classen is the emcee for the event. Josh is going to be part of the record attempt and is broadcasting the weather live. The first 500 people to arrive will receive $10 in free food truck bucks.
