Seven Arrows Elementary Celebrates 10 Years With Its Annual Masquerade

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA--(Marketwire - February 24, 2010) -  Pacific Palisades based Seven Arrows Elementary is celebrating 10 years of service with its annual Masquerade on February 26th, 2010.

The school began the Masquerade 10 years ago, as a celebration of cultural history and diversity. Each year, it gives students the opportunity to pick an influential figure from a specific time period, based on which grade the child is in. From there, they tap into their creative talents to design their own costumes from scratch, after which volunteer parents assemble the finished costume.

The final event is a show-stopping, completely home-made, theatrical piece, where each student gets the opportunity to present their character and a bit of the cultural significance of the person or thing they chose. The Masquerade is the school's opportunity to proudly show off all of the unique characteristics it has become known for, such as the ability to integrate the fine arts, music, theater, and cultural awareness into its curriculum.

This year, in celebration of the 10 year anniversary, the Masquerade will be held at the incredible Broad Stage Theatre in Santa Monica. The Broad Stage has quickly become known as the Westside's Newest Star of the Arts. With Seven Arrows holding their Masquerade there this year they are strengthening their ties to the national art scene, and honoring all of the creativity that has been poured into 10 years of the program.

Seven Arrows Elementary is a K - 6 school rooted in traditional academic rigor with a unique curriculum of world culture and the arts in a community where parents are partners. Seven Arrows was founded in 1999 and is located in Pacific Palisades, California. Seven Arrows believes academic success creates strong self-esteem, growing compassionate, inspired thinkers and ethical leaders.

The 1st-3rd grade portion of the Masquerade runs from 1-3 pm, with a reception immediately afterwards in the lobby. The 4th-6th grade performances will be from 6-8 pm, with a reception afterwards as well.
