SF Bay Area Graphic Design Firm Earns Four Prestigious Website Design Awards

San Francisco Bay Area Design Firm Honored in Categories including Corporate/B2B, Health/Human Services and Restaurant/Food Industry

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - April 07, 2016) - San Francisco Bay Area graphic design firm, Project6 Design, has been awarded four 2015 Horizon website awards. One silver award was given to Biscoff for the Restaurant/Food Industry category. Bronze awards were given to both Lighting Services Inc and Rosendin Electric for the Corporate & B2B category and Leisure Sports Inc. for the Health/Human Services category.

The Horizon Interactive Awards is a prestigious international competition recognizing outstanding achievement among interactive media producers from all over the world. The 2015 Competition was the 14th year that the competition has been held and it has a rich history of recognizing the "best of the best" web sites, videos, mobile applications, advertising and more.

Biscoff cookies have been made in Europe using the same high quality recipe since 1932 -- and now Americans are beginning to discover this delicious, crunchy treat. Biscoff struggled with an old website that fell flat. The packaged goods manufacturer was suffering from a web presence that acted more as the gateway to a separate ecommerce site than an environment where visitors could indulge in the brand's message. Project6 Design rebuilt a custom Drupal site that was flexible enough to allow Biscoff complete control over their content, while ensuring the new design was fully responsive on a desktop, tablet, or mobile device, so every visitor's experience remained consistent with the high quality promised by Biscoff's brand. The robust architecture of Biscoff's new site beckons visitors to explore sumptuous recipes, intuitive purchasing options, and an interactive map on which to share their thoughts about enjoying Biscoff's famous cookies and spreads. Tantalizing and content-rich, Biscoff's new site gives the brand's heritage the spotlight, while making seasonal changes a piece of cake.

Nearing their centennial anniversary, Rosendin Electric has grown from a Santa Clara-based motor winding company that serviced their immediate agricultural community into one of the nation's largest private electrical contractors. Rosendin Electric's former site was nearly a decade old and failed to communicate their position as industry leaders implementing cutting-edge technology. Site administrators lacked the tools to highlight news or engage visitors with portfolio highlights of their more popular projects. The site offered little support or information for Rosendin Electric's many subcontractors, leaving both industry partners and employees to struggle with an ineffective workflow.

Their new website features a new portfolio section that highlights both current projects and their international reach while an extensive "About" section maintains a strong sense of their proud history and company culture. The site's architecture was overhauled to drive user engagement with streamlined navigation. To meet the client's needs for greener and more efficient operations, Project6 implemented an innovative subcontractor portal that provides a simple, centralized location for communication with industry partners. For a more efficient administrative experience, Project6 migrated Rosendin Electric to a Drupal content management system (CMS). The new Rosendin Electric website speaks to both the partners and communities they serve while supporting the brand's position as leaders in their industry.

Since 1958, Lighting Services Inc has been dedicated to illuminating premier museums, retail stores, visitor centers, corporate facilities, theaters, and libraries nationwide. Lighting Services Inc's former website was dated, which affected the brand's ability to convey their innovative and contemporary style. Without mobile responsiveness and SEO optimization, customers found engaging with site specifics difficult. To highlight the quality of their products, LSI wanted a new website that emphasized the important art of display while providing ease of use for both visitors and site administrators.

Project6 organized LSI's existing content, grouping products and accessories together with related projects to provide the structure for a simplified navigation and easy categorization of any new product lines in the future. Once the taxonomy had been locked down, Project6 Design began developing the new site on a Drupal platform. This user-friendly content management system allowed for integration of two databases that are vital for connecting LSI customers with local representatives as well as provide site administrators with complete control over their content.

An attractive, streamlined design featuring professional images of LSI's lighting installations creates a dramatic ambience for visitors of the new site. Simplified navigation illuminates a wealth of content and invites users to browse products or search for a rep or designer. As a more effective tool for customers to connect with LSI, the new website has already received a positive response. Easier to use, engaging to visitors, and responsive across all devices, LSI's new website is a successful representation of the excellence and aesthetic standards achieved by their brand.

"The new site is dynamic, and offers relevant content to our customers. Its user-friendly platform and sleek design highlight who we are as a company and our dedication to both customer satisfaction and innovation."

Leisure Sports, an active lifestyle business, designs, develops, owns and manages distinctive, high-end fitness resorts and hotels that offer world-class service, contemporary facilities, and innovative sports and fitness programs. Project6 Design refined the Leisure Sports sites' outdated navigation and branding, developed multiple types of content editors, updated an outdated and complex custom fitness scheduling tool, added internal promotions, and more. The result is a single Drupal website that runs all seven location websites which allows easy access to multiple editors to quickly make changes. The integrated scheduling tool displays the weekly schedule for each location, and automatically links to each instructor's bio and other classes they teach. On top of all the complexities of the project, the website is also responsive so it naturally fits every possible display size. From large desktop monitor to the smallest phone, images are scaled and navigation is intuitive on all devices.
