SHAKER Appoints Lei Qin to Lead Insights Team

Qin, Ph.D., and Team to Advance the Use of Job-Fit Evidence to Improve Clients' Hiring Decisions

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - Aug 11, 2014) - SHAKER, the market leader in custom simulations for pre-employment testing, today appointed Lei Qin, Ph.D., to Team Leader of the company's Insights Team, a group dedicated to raising quality of hire through ongoing refinement and success of the Virtual Job Tryout® solution within clients' organizations. An experienced industrial/organizational psychologist, Qin has been promoted from senior consultant to lead a team of I/O psychologists in analyzing the data collected through the simulation solution to enhance the predictive power for clients when making hiring decisions.

The Insights Team is committed to ongoing client success. By using the data that is unique to each particular client, SHAKER can give companies specific, customized information about what makes their candidates and hires successful in their jobs at their company. Through the use of selection science and predictive analytics, the solution essentially becomes "smarter" over time, enabling a revolutionary way for companies to use job-fit evidence to support better hiring decisions.

"As our company continues its tremendous growth, we want to ensure that our leadership team aligns with our vision and strategic goals. Since joining SHAKER in 2010, Lei has proven himself to be fully committed to our ideal of pursuing a disciplined, human resources metrics-driven approach to business performance," said SHAKER executive vice president, Joseph Murphy. "Lei's expanded role will enable him to have an even greater impact on our organization's future success."

SHAKER's management team is comprised of professionals with significant experience in industrial/organizational psychology and business improvement. In his new position, Qin will draw on his experiences both within SHAKER and in human resources roles to lead a team of I/O psychologists and HR professionals in the rigorous analysis of client hiring and performance data to provide insight and refine the solution, supporting clients' hiring decisions and generating superior business outcomes. The team also will be responsible for the ongoing training of clients to give them the confidence -- backed up by solid data -- needed to make well-informed hiring decisions.

"I joined SHAKER because I wanted to be a part of the organization that was changing the game when it came to companies' hiring processes. By harnessing the power of analytics to measure critical success-related characteristics, we can optimize staffing procedures which ultimately has a positive impact on a company's bottom line. I look forward to continuing to refine our innovative pre-employment assessment tools to further our customers' success," said Qin.

Before joining SHAKER, Qin served in recruitment and assessment roles at EMBARQ and China Unicom. Qin earned a master's degree in psychology from Beijing Normal University. He went on to earn a master's degree and a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Akron in Ohio.
