Shanghai Petrochemical to Relocate and Expand 150,000-Metric-Ton Ethylene Unit, an Industrial Info News Alert

BEIJING--(Marketwire - July 15, 2008) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) recently announced that it has approved a relocation and expansion project for an ethylene unit of Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Company (NYSE:SHI) (Shanghai), a subsidiary of China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (NYSE:SNP) (Beijing). According to the NDRC, the unit will be moved and rebuilt at another site, and its production capacity will be expanded from 150,000 metric tons per year to 600,000 metric tons per year.
