CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwired - Feb 18, 2014) - Sharalike (www.sharalike.com), an online slideshow creation application that brings your photos and videos to life through animation and music, has announced the open beta release of its web application. Sharalike makes it easy to upload and organize your photos and videos coming from any device, automatically sort them and turn them into animated HTML slideshows in seconds. Sharalike combines the best of multiple services including photo management, slideshow creation and cloud storage.
According to IHS iSuppli Research (October 2012), by 2016 1 billion users will store personal digital content on the cloud. Today, it takes 3 to 5 online services to store visual content, sort and enhance it, create an album or slideshow with it, and share and discuss it within private or public social networks. Adding music to visual content is even more challenging.
Sharalike has simplified and resolved this entire range of challenges. Using cutting-edge image management and innovative videographic technologies, the Sharalike platform enables automated, yet fully editable and customizable, image sorting and enhancement, slideshow creation and animation, videography and music in one SaaS model. With its built-in file storage, multi-device (computer, mobile, tablet) synchronization, and integration with storage services, Sharalike makes private and/or public sharing via social networks available for all users.
"The idea for Sharalike came about from a long stroll with friends and family along the beaches of Cape Cod," said Aymeric Vigneras, Co-Founder of Sharalike. "We easily had more than 300 pictures of our kids building sandcastles, our friends toasting a vintage Cabernet and our families making memories. We were faced with the dilemma of how to sort and find the best images, create and share a slideshow or movie, and store it all in one place. Thus Sharalike was born."
Key Sharalike Features
Automatically organize photos and videos by date, location and picture similarity with a single click. And SmartSelection intelligently selects the best photos based on a variety of criteria.
SmartShow lets users create HTML slideshows in seconds and share them through an automatically-created link versus producing a large video file that is difficult to send and receive. It takes mere minutes to upload photos and create the perfect album, and select the style, theme and music.
Sharalike is private by default but you are only one click away from sharing your SmartShow on Facebook, Twitter or by email.
Centralized Storage Location
The Sharalike beta comes with 5G of free cloud storage and more plans will be rolled out with future product releases.
"We believe users want a one stop shop to simply and quickly create and share memorable animations," says Etienne Leroy, Sharalike's Co-Founder. "Users don't want to have to visit multiple destinations or spend hours creating them. We've created a solution that's simple to use, fast and fun."
Availability & Pricing
The Sharalike web application is now available in beta. An iOS app and desktop app for Windows and Mac will be available soon. The Android app will be available in Q2. All beta customers are entered into the Beta Race, where 50 customers will win free premium accounts and the grand prize winner gets $5,000 to throw their own party with the help of a professional party planner. Sharalike offers a free version of it's application and will also offer 3 tiers of a premium version that includes additional features such as HD streaming, exclusive templated themes and music choices, and extended storage capability. Prices start at just $4 monthly, with a pay-as-you-go offering as well.
Sharalike combines ease of use, sharability and a great user experience to allow users to quickly and easily create animated slideshows of life's memories and moments. Sharalike was founded by two serial entrepreneurs, Aymeric Vigneras and Etienne Leroy, who were looking for a simple online solution to store and manage large image collections, as well as a fresh way to share their content. Sharalike has raised close to $1 Million in angel funding since being founded in 2012. The company is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
