Shareholders of Tara Gold Resources Approve Increase in Authorized Capitalization

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - March 11, 2008) - Tara Gold Resources Corp. (PINKSHEETS: TRGD) (FRANKFURT: T8N) announced today that at a Special Meeting of Shareholders reconvened on February 22, 2008 and shareholders owning a majority of Tara Gold's outstanding shares approved a resolution increasing Tara Gold's authorized capitalization to 150,000,000 shares of common stock.

Francis R. Biscan, Jr., Tara Gold's President, commented, "We are very pleased that our shareholders approved an increase in our authorized capitalization. Prior to the shareholder vote we had an authorized capitalization of 100,000,000 shares, but had 95,928,453 outstanding shares of common stock. As a result of the increase in our authorized capitalization, the company has the flexibility it needs to pursue an aggressive growth strategy, but we also will continue to minimize dilution."
