Sharing of "Celestica" and "Robosapien" Success Stories

Seminar in Toronto to advise and assist Canadian companies in charting their China Business Strategies Attention: Business/Financial Editor, News Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 13, 2005) - "Celestica" and "Robosapien" Success Stories to share with Toronto Audience

Many Canadian companies, especially SMEs, have heard a great deal about the business potentials offered by China. Some of them are also keen to chart their "China Business Strategies" before they miss the boat.

These companies may like to consider the "Celestica" and "Robosapien" success stories for additional reference.

A Seminar entitled: "Hong Kong and Dongguan: Your Partners for Success in China" is scheduled to take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Thursday, October 20, 2005. The major objective is to advise and assist Canadian companies in developing their viable China business strategies.

Toronto-based Celestica Inc., has in recent years successfully co-operated with Hong Kong and the City of Dongguan (in the Pearl River Delta of China) in growing its business.

Some of us may recall that Robosapien (first generation), a robot toy, was one of the most popular gifts in Canada during Christmas 2004. Few of us are aware that it also represents a "win-win-win" business model for Canada-Hong Kong-China tripartite partnership:

Canadian technology / know how
+ Hong Kong's supply chain management/marketing
------------------------------------------------------------------------
= Success in the global market
==========================

The Seminar participants will be able to share the experiences of Herrmann Lau, Vice President, Supply Chain Management, China, Celestica Inc. and David Goldhar, Vice President, Wow Wee Ltd. (producer of Robosapien) as well as other speakers and experts from Hong Kong and China including: the Vice Mayor of the City of Dongguan, Zhang Shun Guang; the Deputy Executive Director of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Steve Alexander; and the Director-General of Invest Hong Kong, Mike Rowse.

This event is co-organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, City of Dongguan, Invest Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office. It is well supported by the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, IE Canada, Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Export Development Canada, Hong Kong-Canada Business Association and Ontario Exports Inc.
