RED DEER, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Feb. 21, 2011) - Jennie Beal of Red Deer will get the chance to bring four generations of her family together for an unforgettable family reunion in Lake Louise to celebrate her father's 87th birthday and commemorate the life of her late mother.
Shaw's Amazing Family Reunion launched online at www.togetherisamazing.com on November 29, inviting Canadians to create a virtual scrapbook page sharing their story of why they wanted to reunite their family. More than 5,000 Canadians created family scrapbooks and shared their incredible stories. Ten deserving families were chosen by a panel of judges and will have the opportunity to create their dream family reunion valued up to $25,000.
"Family reunions were always such a big part of my life growing up," said Jennie Beal, one of Shaw's Amazing Family Reunion winners. "My mom and dad always used to say, no matter how strong the winds are, your roots will hold you through anything. Shaw giving me the opportunity to bring together four generations of my family to celebrate the lives of my mom and dad is truly a dream come true."
After marrying her high school sweetheart, Jennie Beal moved from Eastern Canada to Alberta, where they raised four beautiful children. The rest of her family remained in the east, but each year, her parents would make the trip west and they would visit the mountains. In November 2006, Jennie's mom Agnus passed away of a heart attack. Later this year, Jennie's dad will turn 87 – it's her dream to bring four generations of her family together in Lake Louise, where the entire family can hike up to Agnus Lake to celebrate her parents. With her entire family living in Eastern Canada, Shaw's Amazing Family Reunion will help make Jennie's dream a reality.
