Shear Wind Inc.: Over 100,000 Acres Equates Over 1000 MW

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA and CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Aug. 21, 2007) - Mike Magnus, President & CEO of Shear Wind Inc. ("Shear Wind") (TSX VENTURE:SWX) is pleased to provide an update to shareholders about the current work and accomplishments to date. Shear Wind is a Nova Scotia-based publicly traded wind energy exploration and development company committed to providing consumers with a source of renewable and clean energy.

Shear Wind is continuing to increase their "pipeline" of future power output capability and expanded acreage. Recent expansion efforts include areas in New Brunswick, Saskatchewan and additional land expansion of Alberta project sites. Mike Magnus is extremely pleased with the expansion: "We are excited with our accomplishments to date. Shear Wind has accumulated over 100,000 acres, thus bringing our nameplate capacity to over 1000 MW. Our entire project team is committed to moving these projects to the next stage, and ensuring Shear Wind as a significant player in the power generation industry. We are moving quickly, and I am proud to say our progress is significant."

Magnus expands: "One of our Alberta sites has the capability of becoming one of the largest consolidated wind farms in Canada - or as we say in Alberta, we have a "Wind Sands" future." Shear Wind continues to move forward with transmission and environmental studies, to develop their projects.
