Shear Wind Strengthens Team With New Officers

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA and CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - April 11, 2007) - Mike Magnus, President of Shear Wind Inc. ("Shear Wind") (TSX VENTURE:SWX) is pleased to announce the recent addition of two strong officers to its team. In December, 2006, Mr. Bill Bartlett, BBA, CMA joined the Company as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Affairs. More recently, in March, Mr. Ian Tillard, BASc, P.Eng, PMP was brought on as Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Magnus and his team are looking forward to working with Messrs Bartlett and Tillard; both come with significant resumes, and will provide Shear Wind with continued exceptional integrated expertise that Shear Wind values in building a strong entity to provide wind energy to communities and business. "We are very excited to have both Bill and Ian join the Shear Wind team", said Mike Magnus, President and CEO, "and are looking forward to many years of strong growth both in Nova Scotia and Western Canadian projects".

Ian Tillard received a Bachelor of Applied Sciences degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Mr. Tillard has five (5) years of wind energy experience in senior technical, planning and managerial roles; specifically as President of Barrington Wind Energy Ltd., a Nova Scotia wind energy exploration and development company. Mr. Tillard also has 25 years of experience with engineering and project management firms to deliver infrastructure and energy consulting, planning, engineering and construction expertise, with Project Management 0experience gained while providing services to a range of medium to large engineering firms, including EastPoint Engineering, AMEC Americas, and Whitman Benn & Associates. Mr. Tillard provides technical consulting and management skills with a focus on timely project delivery within budgeted targets.

Mr. Tillard states, "My reason for moving to Shear Wind are twofold: firstly, my project development experiences with Barrington Resources gives me the insight to recognize the exciting opportunities that Shear Wind has across Canada; and secondly in understanding the scope of projects, targeted acquisitions, and what I see as the best wind site in Nova Scotia, this company appears to have a solid and viable strategy that will provide positioning in becoming a major leader in the wind industry.

Ian Tillard's first responsibility will be to coordinate and manage the submission of a proposal to Nova Scotia Power in response to their recent Renewable Energy Requests for Proposal (RFP).

Bill Bartlett has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He has been a member of the Society of Management Accountants of Nova Scotia since 1992. Mr. Bartlett spent the last eleven years with the Clearwater Fine Foods Inc. group of companies, where he held the position of Controller for Clearwater's Clam Division in Newfoundland and for, the last seven years, the position of Vice President, Finance & Administration for Ocean Nutrition Canada, a global supplier of Omega -3 ingredients to the dietary supplement and healthy food markets. Previous experience includes senior positions within the hotel, airline and aerospace industries. Bill will be responsible for all financial matters within Shear Wind, including, but not limited to, treasury, financial accounting, financial management, management reporting systems and corporate affairs.
