Sheckler Foundation's SKATE FOR A CAUSE Will Kick Off With GoPro Legends Bowl Contest

SAN CLEMENTE, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 25, 2013) - Christian Hosoi, Steve Olson and Jay Adams are among the iconic skateboarders that will be competing in the GoPro Legends Bowl Contest during the Sheckler Foundation's SKATE FOR A CAUSE event on May 4 at the etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest. Kicking off at noon, the GoPro Legends Bowl Contest is the first event at SKATE FOR A CAUSE.

Last year Sergie Ventura won the event, and he'll be back to compete in this ordered jam session event in the Shark Bowl. It is a black backyard style amoeba pool with a four-and-a-half foot deep shallow end, six foot deep pockets and a nine-and-a-half foot deep end. It'll be amazing to see the legends dominate the bowl's death boxes, shallow-end stairs and Tedderstone pool coping.

The list of legendary bowl riders confirmed to compete includes:

  • Aaron Astorga
  • Bill Weiss
  • Christian Hosoi
  • Dave Duncan
  • Dave Hackett
  • Eddie Reategui
  • Jason Ellis
  • Jay Adams
  • Jim Gray
  • Mike Rogers
  • Pat Ngoho
  • PLG
  • Sasha Steinhorst
  • Sergie Ventura
  • Steve Olson

All of the day's events give skateboarders, sponsors and the community a chance to have fun while giving back to raise funds for the Be the Change project. This event will help benefit the Sheckler Foundation's "Be the Change" project that is building a skatepark on the Port Gamble S'klallam Reservation. SKATE FOR A CAUSE gives skateboarders, sponsors and the community a chance to have fun while giving back to those in need.
