Shelburne Students Compete in CA-Sprott Business Competition

Students Tackle Entrepreneurial Simulation

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 8, 2011) - Students from Centre Dufferin District High School are competing in the CA-Sprott Business Competition (CA-SBC) on Friday, December 9. A two-person team - Matthew Billard and Adam Vander Zaag - will battle other teams from across the province to come out on top in the popular on-line business simulation. Almost 5,000 students from across Ontario took part in the CA-SBC, which runs from September until the finals on December 9.

Developed by Carleton University's Sprott School of Business and sponsored by the Ontario CA Institute, the CA-Sprott Business Competition (CA-SBC) pits high school students against one another as they experience the joys and challenges of running their own company, all while competing for cash prizes. Players make decisions relating to marketing, accounting, sales and more, while guiding their web-based virtual companies to glorious success or ignominious failure. The CA-SBC also provides high school business teachers with an innovative, hands-on teaching tool for their classrooms.
