Sheldon Kennedy Joins #Chucks4Bucks Campaign During Stampede

Prochuckwagon driver Rae Croteau Jr., sponsors donate to local charity - Media Event Monday July 7

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - July 6, 2014) - Only three days into the Calgary Stampede and there has been no shortage of traction for the #Chucks4Bucks social media campaign designed to raise money and awareness for the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre. Professional chuckwagon legend Rae Croteau Jr. has amassed a lot of support after announcing on Friday that any image snapped of his #BadAssRainbow chuckwagon in action and tagged with the hashtag #Chucks4Bucks would see one dollar donated to the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre. Last year, Croteau donated a portion of his Stampede winnings to the Alberta Flood Relief Fund and was match by his sponsor TOMCO Group for a donation of $10, 000. This year, Rae's sponsors TOMCO Group, Ranchman's Cookhouse and Dancehall, and Nabors Production are all on board to contribute.

A cause dear to his heart, Sheldon Kennedy is personally donating $1000 to the campaign and is hoping to inspire others to do the same. "It is an absolute honor to have Rae and his chuckwagon team help us raise awareness and dollars for the Centre. Team is everything when racing chuckwagons and we believe team is also everything in our collective fight against child abuse. Here at the Sheldon Kennedy Child Advocacy Centre our team has supported just over 1,200 child abuse investigations in our first year of operation," says Kennedy.

Media are invited to attend a media campaign launch event taking place live at the Rae Croteau chuckwagon barns (Barn H #W4) on the Stampede grounds at 10am on Monday, July 7th . Driver Rae Croteau Jr. and Sheldon Kennedy will both be present for live interviews, photos and commentary. Professional bull rider Cody Snyder has also declared support and will be available at the event.
