SHIFT Communications Wins Seven Bell Ringer Awards

The Publicity Club of New England Honors SHIFT Communications for Smart and Creative Public Relations and Social Media

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Jun 5, 2012) - SHIFT Communications, a high-tech and consumer public relations agency with offices in Boston, San Francisco and New York City, announced today that it has been honored with seven Bell Ringer Awards presented by The Publicity Club of New England. The Bell Ringer Awards recognize excellence in communications and public relations work in every field and industry, and across all media, including online, print and broadcast. An Agency up-and-comer was honored with a personal achievement award and the firm scored six awards for its client campaigns.

SHIFT received Bell Ringer Awards in the following categories:

  • Best National Print Feature: Gold award presented to the Rapid7 account team
  • Best Product/Service High-Tech Campaign: Silver award presented to the SolidWorks account team
  • Best Business-to-Business Product/Service Campaign: Silver award presented to the Nexage account team
  • Best Response to Breaking News: Silver award presented to the Rapid7 account team
  • Best Clean Energy/Green Technology Product/Service Launch Campaign: Bronze award presented to the Retroficiency account team
  • Best Social Media Campaign: Bronze award presented to the Overstock.com account team

"Hands down -- SHIFT has the best account staff," said Agency Principal Todd Defren. "SHIFTers work hard to put their clients' names in lights every day. It was awesome to see the 'Pub Club' recognize this work and put our teams' names up on the big screen."

The Publicity Club of New England also presented SHIFT Senior Account Executive Kate Binette with the 2012 Young PR Professional of the Year, known as the Striker Award. This award is given to a working New England public relations or communications professional who has excelled in the PR and communications industry in a very short period of time and has surpassed other newcomers in the organization and in the field.

SHIFT client Dave Dickinson, CEO of Zeo, congratulated Kate: "You know when someone is really good when you find yourself deferring to their judgment and trusting their instincts. Kate is already a real pro within public relations, but I had no idea she was so new to the field. That tells me a lot about how successful she is going to be."

"SHIFT has taught me so much about excellence in public relations and what it means to go above and beyond," said Kate Binette. "I'm proud to work for such a great company and thrilled that I was honored with this year's Striker Award."

The Bell Ringer Awards were delivered by The Publicity Club of New England, which was founded in 1949, to promote involvement in the communications industry, specifically in the fields of public relations, promotions and marketing. This trade organization provides scholarship, professional education and award programs to students, members and nonmembers to help encourage excellence in the field of communications.
