BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - Oct 4, 2012) - SHIFT Communications, a nationwide social media public relations agency with offices in Boston, San Francisco and New York City, announced today it has won the prestigious PR News PR Platinum Award for Best Financial/Investor Relations Campaign. This award recognizes campaigns conducted to support an organization's financial messages, and was presented to SHIFT for the Agency's work for Appirio, a cloud services provider.
Working in close partnership with Appirio's internal marketing team, SHIFT was instrumental in generating broad awareness for Appirio's Series D funding round and positioning the infusion of new capital as a competitive threat to larger, more traditional systems integrators. Through a mix media interviews, bylined placements, blog posts and off-line events, the news generated 80 feature stories in business, broadcast and technology media for a total of more than 550 million impressions. The day of news, coupled with Appirio's social media efforts, led to nearly 1,500 tweets with 5.5 million Twitter impressions and made it the single highest traffic day for the Appirio website with 82 percent visiting for the first time.
Appirio tapped SHIFT in 2010 to drive the company's media relations and thought leadership efforts. This is the second national PR award that SHIFT has earned for its work with Appirio this year.
