MEDIA RELEASE--(Marketwire - March 17, 2009) - Shimano Canada, a leading manufacturer and distributor of fishing and cycling equipment, has partnered with the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (O.F.A.H.) in an exciting educational initiative.

Shimano will sponsor the fresh water aquarium at the O.F.A.H./Mario Cortellucci Hunting & Fishing Heritage Centre, located in Peterborough. The 2,400 gallon tank will showcase several species of Ontario fish, and is sure to be a major attraction at the centre, which is slated to open in the early fall. The heritage centre will also feature wildlife dioramas, Ontario record fish and the state-of-the-art Toronto Sportsmen's Show Amphitheatre.

"Shimano Canada is proud to support this progressive effort by our friends at the O.F.A.H.," said Phil Morlock, Director of Environmental Affairs for Shimano in the U.S. and Canada. "The significant role which hunters, anglers and trappers continue to play in the success of the North American model of fish and wildlife conservation is an extraordinary story and we are pleased to be able to partner with the O.F.A.H. in educating people about this heritage."

"We are delighted to welcome Shimano Canada as an O.F.A.H./Mario Cortellucci Hunting and Fishing Heritage Centre sponsor. The Shimano fresh water aquarium will be a wonderful addition to the centre," said Mike Reader, O.F.A.H. Executive Director. "Visitors are in for a truly fascinating, interactive experience that we hope will inspire a deep appreciation and respect for our natural world."

The O.F.A.H. will recognize the Shimano Canada sponsorship at the upcoming 81st O.F.A.H. Annual General Meeting and Fish & Wildlife Conference, to be held in Mississauga. Other major supporters include developer and philanthropist, Mario Cortellucci, who has donated two million dollars to the project and for whom the building is named, and the Toronto the Sportsmen's Show, who is sponsoring the amphitheatre. Many others individuals and organizations have made financial and in-kind contributions.
