Shock Illusionist Dan Sperry to Return to Broadway in "The Illusionists" North American Tour Kick Off

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jul 2, 2014) - Illusionist Dan Sperry will return to New York City in November 2014, bringing his outrageous style of shock illusion to Broadway. The month-long residency kicks off the North American tour of "The Illusionists," the largest touring magic show in the world.

Sperry, one of the most sought-after entertainers in his field, performs as the headliner for "The Illusionists" which combines the greatest magicians on one stage, bringing with them the very best of their individual acts. The result is Sperry leading a show packed with thrilling and sophisticated magic of unprecedented proportions. Sold out tour stops for Sperry have included some of the largest entertainment venues in the world with stops in Sydney, Singapore, Mexico City, South America, Germany, Dubai and many more. His viral popularity has garnered attention from media outlets around the world including Good Morning America, USA Today, L.A. Times, specials on FOX and many more.

"I'm really excited to be able to get back to the U.S. to perform," said Sperry. "It has been several years since I toured nationally with my show and after stopping my off-Broadway show to tour internationally I'm definitely ready to get back. Honored to be doing this with the largest magic show in the world."

The Broadway residency at the Marquis Theatre will mark Sperry's return to performing in the heart of New York. In 2011 he traded in his longtime Vegas residency to call New York home, starring in a solo off-Broadway headlining engagement nightly in Times Square. The critically-acclaimed shock illusionist quickly gained the attention of the mainstream entertainment industry. With glowing reviews from audiences and critics alike it was voted "Best of Manhattan" for 2012 and 2013. In addition to fans and critics, Sperry attracted the team from TLC's TV series "Cake Boss." To celebrate Sperry's 500th Times Square show milestone, baking guru Buddy Valastro worked with the cutting-edge illusionist to make a cake of epic likeness appear in front of an audience.

While headlining in New York City, Sperry grew in popularity traveling the world for numerous appearances. In 2012 he was the first magician to ever become a top three finalist on German hit "Das SuperTalent," part of the successful "Got Talent" franchise. His talent for mesmerizing audiences was able to transcend the language barrier and garner him such high praises from judges and viewing audience that his appearances went on for more than 20 minutes. Hailed by judges as the best magician that ever appeared on the show, Sperry showed off his well-known shock illusions during the rounds including his popular lifesaver through the throat and more.
