Topel Winery Seeking Photo Submissions for 2012 Wine Tails Calendar

HEALDSBURG, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 17, 2011) - This year it's raining cats and dogs as Topel Winery accepts photo submissions for its popular Wine Tails Calendar, which raises funds for the Healdsburg Animal Shelter.

The 2012 calendar will be the fourth annual effort -- and the very first to feature felines as well as canines. "We had so many requests from our friends and customers to include cats and not just limit it to dogs," said Donnis Topel, who, along with her husband, Marcus, owns Topel Winery. "We figured it makes no difference -- cats have tails, too! And we're looking forward to some very creative photos from cat fanciers."

The deadline for submitting photos for consideration is Sunday, July 31. Photographs should be in high resolution digital format (minimum 300 dpi). Pictures must be taken with a digital camera -- cell and smart phone photographs will not be accepted due to inferior quality. Preference will be given to photos that have a wine theme, incorporating vineyards, barrels, glassware, bottles and other wine-related items. "We also love holiday themes that include wine," Topel said. "And obviously we give special bonus points for photos featuring the Topel logo in some way."

All photos should be submitted via email to Cats and dogs whose photos are selected to be featured as monthly calendar pin-ups will win one free calendar and a bottle of Topel wine for their guardian.

The calendar is scheduled to be released at the tasting room's annual "Dogtoberfest," which this year will be on Saturday, October 29.
