Showpad's Mobile-First Sales Enablement Platform Lands in the U.S. With Multi-Screen Functionality and Unrivaled Customization Capabilities

500+ Organizations Use Showpad to Align Sales and Marketing to Increase Revenue

SAN FRANCISCO, CA and GHENT, BELGIUM--(Marketwired - May 7, 2014) - Showpad, a provider of mobile-first sales enablement tools, today announced it has expanded to the U.S. market and established North American headquarters in San Francisco as a result of growing demand for its mobile sales and marketing technology solutions. Founded in 2011, Showpad has signed 500 global customers and achieved 700 percent growth in annual recurring revenue in the last 18 months through innovative product development that provides sales and marketing professionals with a mobile-first experience that is consistent across tablets, smartphones and the Web.

"The sales industry is truly at a crossroad. Technology and the need to respond to today's empowered and educated buyer is forcing a change in how sales and marketing are being conducted, with mobile and global connectivity being an essential component," said Craig Nelson, principal, Sales Enablement Group. "Savvy companies that embrace these mobile-first technologies will give their sales force a competitive edge, streamline sales and marketing processes, and deliver enablement when it truly matters to produce a higher-level of sales conversions."

As part of their rapidly growing customer base, Showpad recently collaborated with Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management; JLG, a leading lift manufacturer; and the North America group of Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology, LLC to help align their sales and marketing teams and mobilize their sales forces to increase effectiveness.

Showpad's expanding customer base highlights the strong need for technology solutions that align sales and marketing teams to increase productivity and create conversations in face-to-face meetings that drive conversion. A TapResearch survey of sales professionals revealed tablets are the must-have technology for 30 percent of sales professionals, which is nearly two times greater than Salesforce.com (16 percent). Additionally, technology is a proven productivity booster, as 20 percent of sales professionals reported that technology has doubled productivity.

The survey also found that nearly 50 percent of sales pros have met with customers who were smarter and more prepared than them. In this new era of smarter customers, sales professionals need to be well prepared to have successful, impactful conversations at any time, as 60 percent of the buying process occurs before customers and sales reps meet.

"It's clear that Showpad has a deep understanding of sales enablement with tablets and marketing capabilities to deliver value to sales. The rapid adoption and success we have had with Showpad has exceeded our initial expectations," said Russell Wurth, director, Solution Marketing, Accuvant. "Showpad uniquely serves my business needs for both my mobile and distributed sales force. With a catalog of over 500 products and services, my teams can access information that is relevant to a specific customer -- all in one intuitive user experience. With the advanced metrics I get from Showpad, I have immediate insight into the effectiveness of marketing investments."

Showpad is announcing several new features and updates to its powerful sales enablement tool to help coordinate marketing and sales departments, and convert sales in real-time, including:

  • Smartphone capabilities to round out Showpad's multi-screen functionality and ensure further synchronization between marketing and sales before customer meetings;
  • Personal Channel to enable sales teams to easily customize content for each customer's needs on-the-fly;
  • New ability to import files from Microsoft OneDrive, Gmail, Alfresco, GitHub and other sources, in addition to existing capabilities with Box and Dropbox. Streamlined upload ability with Google Drive and Evernote will soon be available;
