Showtime Premiere of Peace Arch Co-Production "The Tudors" Sets Ratings Record

Ten-Part Series Premiered on Showtime Networks in U.S. to Critical Acclaim, Sony International to Premiere on International Television This Summer

TORONTO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 5, 2007 -- Peace Arch® Entertainment Group Inc. (AMEX: PAE) (TSX: PAE), an innovative film and television entertainment company, announced today that its co-production with TM Productions of the original ten-part event television series "The Tudors" world premiered on Showtime Networks on April 1, 2007 to a record audience for that network.

Showtime's premiere of "The Tudors" drew approximately 869,000 total viewers on Sunday night at 10 p.m., and another 404,000 for its 11 p.m. airing, establishing this as the pay-TV network's biggest premiere night in the past three years, and three times the network's prime-time average. According to Showtime, more than one million people had actually sampled "The Tudors" either online or in other on-demand formats.

Peace Arch Entertainment, which owns non-US worldwide rights to the series, licensed to Sony International, the DVD, television, mobile and new media distribution rights outside of North America to "The Tudors." Sony will premiere the series internationally this summer. Peace Arch licensed Canadian rights to The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and they will broadcast in Canada in the fall. Peace Arch Home Entertainment will distribute the film on DVD in Canada.

Gary Howsam, CEO of Peace Arch Entertainment, stated, "'The Tudors' is a groundbreaking drama with a world-class cast. We are extremely pleased to share the excitement of this series' terrific premiere results with Showtime. We look forward to working with major entertainment companies, such as Showtime and Sony International, in the years to come as we strive to continue to produce high-profile content of this magnitude."

"The Tudors" is produced by Peace Arch Entertainment and TM Productions in association with The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and Showtime Networks, and with the support of investment incentives from the Irish Film Industry provided by the Government of Ireland. "The Tudors" is produced with the participation of Bord Scannan na hEireann/Irish Film Board.

A ten-part series of one-hour episodes, "The Tudors" tells the incredible tale of the young, powerful, seductive King Henry VIII, focusing on the tumultuous early years of the ambitious King's nearly 40-year reign of England. Bold and passionate about his country and his women, Henry's obsession with ensuring his legacy led to beheadings of friend and foe, waging war, and challenging the almighty Catholic Church of England, forever changing the soul of the British Empire.

"The Tudors" stars Golden Globe® Award-winning actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers ("Match Point," "Elvis," "Bend It Like Beckham") as the young, sexy and ruthless King Henry VIII; Emmy® and Golden Globe Award nominated Sam Neill ("Jurassic Park," "Merlin," "Little Fish") as Cardinal Thomas Wolsey -- a minister who possessed great power until he failed his King; Henry Czerny ("Mission Impossible," "Clear and Present Danger") as The Duke of Norfolk who learned that the only thing that mattered was winning and keeping the favor of the King; Jeremy Northam (CBS' "Martin & Lewis," "Gosford Park," "The Net") as Sir Thomas More -- a man whose principles sent him to the chopping block; Gabrielle Anwar ("Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead," "Scent of A Woman") as Princess Margaret, Henry's spoiled sister who was married off to become Queen of Scotland; and Natalie Dormer ("Casanova") as the infamous Anne Boleyn, the first of Henry's wives to be beheaded.

"The Tudors" was created and written by Michael Hirst, whose work includes the Academy Award-winning "Elizabeth." The series completed principal photography on location in Ireland in October. Michael Hirst, Ben Silverman of Reveille, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title are the executive producers of "The Tudors," with Gary Howsam of Peace Arch Entertainment Group and Morgan O'Sullivan of World 2000 producing.
