Shutterfly Collections Named PC Magazine's Editors' Choice for Best Online Photo Manager

Collections Stands Out as "Easy Way for Individuals and Groups to Post and Share Albums Online"

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 16, 2005 -- In the upcoming September 20 issue, PC Magazine named Shutterfly Collections™ as its Editors' Choice for best online photo-management application. Shutterfly Collections was the only service to receive PC Magazine's Editors' Choice merit. Collections is a new picture sharing service from Shutterfly, the leading independent e-commerce company specializing in digital photo products and services.

In the article "Photo Managers Keep Track of Your Digital Images," PC Magazine reviewed five services and ranked them according to features that help consumers store, find and share images online. Shutterfly Collections received the highest review (a 4.5 rating on the 5-point scale) in the category among the competition.

"With Collections, Shutterfly has upped the ante among online photofinishers by adding a free and easy way for individuals and groups to post and share albums online," wrote Cade Metz, senior writer for PC Magazine. "Our favorite photo printing and sharing service just got better."

PC Magazine recognized Shutterfly Collections as the "Editors' Choice," in the print article and on their site (pcmag.com), based on the following qualities:

-- Lets you quickly and easily load photos

-- Helps you create own personalized Web sites - complete with short,
simple "vanity" URL that's easy to remember

-- Friends and family can visit (the URL) at their leisure and post
comments and even their own pictures

-- Groups of people can upload photos to one shared Collection, to
chronicle events such as reunions, weddings, parties, and the like
-- Receive e-mail notifications each time a new batch of photos is added

Shutterfly members can create up to two free Collections, each with a personal address (e.g. TheMartinFamily.shutterfly.com, BabyAva.shutterfly.com or AmyandDanielsWedding.shutterfly.com), where they can store and share an unlimited number of photo albums. Invited guests receive an email invitation to view shared pictures and to access previous album postings. To ensure the privacy of Collections, users have the option of setting password protection for each personalized URL.
