Shuttle Computer Group Announces X50V5, Robust All-in-One for Retail, Wayfinding, Kiosk, Medical, Entertainment

CITY OF INDUSTRY, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 10, 2016) - Shuttle Computer Group, Inc., one of the world's leading designers of small form computers, announced its X50V5 all-in-one (AIO) computer designed for customizable applications in retail, wayfinding, kiosks, food service, medical, queueing, and entertainment applications. Its heat-pipe design allows for fanless operation ensuring long-term stability and silent, 24/7 operation, even in humid conditions.

"All-in-ones play a vital role in today's business marketplace in POS, retail and other applications," said Marty Lash, director sales and marketing, Shuttle Computer Group. "Our X50V5 offers a variety of options in connectivity, memory and expansion capabilities to make this AIO the go-to option for integrators and VARs across a wide range of industries."

The X50V5 can stand alone or be VESA-mounted. Its front panel is IP54 certified for dust and water resistance; it can be used for indoor applications where the touch screen may be exposed to humidity and occasional splashing of water. It features a large, 15.6-inch, 16:9, 1366x768 resolution, single-touch screen particularly suitable for interactive kiosks and POS. It is appropriate for operation within 32 ~ 110 F ambient temperatures to meet the environmental demands of commercial applications.

Offering the latest Intel® Skylake platform with an Intel® Celeron® 3855U 1.6 GHz dual-core processor with max TDP of 15W, the X50V5 has memory frequency support up to DDR3L-1600 MHz, with a maximum capacity of 16GB, and built-in Intel® HD Graphics 510 to play full HD/1080p content on external displays. It's a robust powerhouse that drives one VGA and one HDMI (1080P) external display. The X50V5 also supports M.2 2280 BM SSD and can house two solid state drives or hard drives (one via an m.2 slot and another via a SATA interface).

With an array of USB 2.0 and 3.0 connections located on the front and side panel, the X50V5 has an additional internal USB port that is guarded within the chassis so a TV tuner or any other USB 2.0 device can be installed. Optional accessories (part numbers PCL71 and POS01) are available for various kiosk, digital signage and POS applications.

The X50V5 has a built-in Intel® Gigabit LAN interface and Realtek RTL 8821AE b/g/n/ac and BT 4.0 combo wireless network card, with transmission rates reaching up to 433.3 Mbps for significantly enhanced data transfer efficiency and operation speeds. It also supports Wake On LAN function so users can turn on the X50V5 from sleep mode, rest mode, or when powered off via the internet. Its Power On by RTC function allows users to set a time to boot up the computer and turn off with the Windows task scheduler, which saves energy and eliminates the cost of on-site service.

The X50V5 series is currently available through computer resellers; they come with a three-year limited warranty.
