SI Systems Technologies LLC Selects Appian BPM for Air Force NETCENTS-2 Application Services Small Business Contract

RESTON, VA--(Marketwire - Aug 14, 2012) - Appian, the market leader in modern business process management (BPM) software, today announced that SI Systems Technologies LLC has chosen Appian as a key partner in Network-Centric Solutions II (NETCENTS-2) Application Services (Small Business Companion (SB)) contract bids. The NETCENTS-2 contract is a multiple award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to provide Information Technology Services. SI Systems Technologies is one of 12 organizations awarded the right to bid on NETCENTS-2 contracts worth up to $960,000,000.00. NETCENTS-2 will make it quicker and easier for the warfighter to obtain innovative information technology services and capabilities covering the full spectrum of operations and missions.

"Advanced business process management software presents a faster, more cost-effective means for developing government IT solutions than traditional software development," said David J. Doherty/Program Manager at SI Systems Technologies. "The flexibility, zero-coding design and modern mobility and social collaboration capabilities of the Appian platform will be a strategic asset in our NETCENTS-2 contract bids."

The official web site of the U.S. Air Force states, "This mandatory contract is a significant opportunity for small businesses to support Air Force information technology requirements," said Denise Baylor, director of Small Business Programs for the Air Force's Program Executive Officer for Business and Enterprise Systems. "As a whole, the NETCENTS-2 strategy shows a commitment to maintaining a viable small business industrial base for future Air Force needs."

The NETCENTS-2 ID/IQ contracts will provide a wide range of IT Network-centric and Telephony products, services and solutions covering the full spectrum of net-centric operations and missions, including existing legacy infrastructure, networks, systems and operations, as well as emerging requirements based on the AF Chief Information Officer's (CIO's) Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) construct. The NETCENTS-2 Application Services (SB) acquisition provides a streamlined, enterprise-supported contract vehicle that enables the consolidation of many existing base-level contracts for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities. In addition, NETCENTS-2 supports the re-engineering and modernization of legacy systems through the rapid, incremental delivery of network-centric solutions. NETCENTS-2 enables improved day-to-day operations and warfighting mission execution for Air Force customers.

"More than 40 federal agencies utilize the Appian platform for increased transparency, enhanced collaboration and accelerated time-to-market in their IT modernization efforts," said Marc Wilson, Vice President of Global Partnerships at Appian. "By supporting SI Systems Technologies in their NETCENTS-2 contract bids, we hope to spread those benefits throughout the U.S. Air Force."
