MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwired - May 8, 2014) - Sierra Monitor Corporation (OTCQB: SRMC), a company that designs, manufactures and sells high reliability electronic communications, safety and environmental instrumentation, announced today that it has received the largest single order for FieldServer Technologies' QuickServers. The protocol gateway products are to be installed in fire alarm panels at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia to provide fire safety data via a network to central monitoring stations in the fire marshal and university control rooms. The order is valued at more than $400,000.
"We created an application specific solution needed to interface to the ICAS (Inter Campus Automation System) via BACnet/IP which is being installed in fire alarm panels in many of the more than 2,000 staff and student villas located on the 5.2 million square foot KAUST campus," said Gordon R. Arnold, president and chief executive officer. "This is the third follow on order the company has received from KAUST for FieldServer gateways. We began shipping the QuickServers in April and expect to complete the order before the end of the second quarter," Mr. Arnold stated. The campus is monitored and controlled via ICAS which tracks every electrical and security device in the infrastructure including lights, window shades, motion sensors, fire alarm panels, computer screens, temperatures, water flow and many other devices and parameters.
