Sierra Systems Appoints New Executive Vice President and CFO

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 20, 2005) - Sierra Systems Group Inc. (TSX:SSG) announced today the creation of a new role, Executive Vice President, Growth Strategies. Caroline Dunn, the Company's Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will step into this role on October 1, 2005.

Ms. Dunn joined Sierra Systems in 1998 as a Partner and Director of Finance. In 1999 she was appointed Chief Financial Officer, and in May 2004, Corporate Secretary.

"Ms. Dunn is both a valued and widely respected member of our team," said Iraj Pourian, Sierra Systems' President and CEO. "As CFO and Corporate Secretary, she has been a tremendous asset and has successfully shaped the way in which we do business. With the company directing its focus to develop its four most successful growth areas - Justice, Health, Enterprise Solutions, and Managed Services, we will now rely on her expertise to continue making our company a success."

Concurrently, Warren Beach, the Company's Director of Finance, will assume the role of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective October 1, 2005. Mr. Beach will also assume the role of Corporate Secretary after completing a six-month transition period as Assistant Corporate Secretary with Ms. Dunn. Mr. Beach joined Sierra Systems in May 2001 and during the last four years has provided strong leadership to the company's Financial Services Group. Prior to joining Sierra Systems, he worked as a Corporate Controller for one of North America's largest wood product distribution companies and as Director of Finance for a Nasdaq listed technology company. Mr. Beach is a Chartered Accountant.

"Having internal candidates to fulfill these important roles is a reflection on the strong leadership and succession planning undertaken at Sierra Systems," said Mr. Pourian. "I am very pleased to see both individuals assume roles that will help fulfill the company's growth."
