Sierra Tucson Supports ASU-Produced Special Report on Heroin

TUCSON, AZ--(Marketwired - Jan 13, 2015) - Sierra Tucson, an international leader in the treatment of complex, co-occurring behavioral health disorders, will support Arizona State University's (ASU) statewide initiative to grow awareness of the harms and tribulations of heroin and opioid use. On Tuesday, January 13th, every broadcast TV station and most radio outlets across Arizona will simultaneously air a 30-minute commercial-free investigative report that was created by ASU student journalists showing the harmful results of heroin and opioid use. Sierra Tucson is supporting the statewide collaboration with two Sierra Tucson representatives who will be part of the 100-phone call center for viewers seeking counseling or more information on addiction. The call center, hosted by the Arizona Broadcasters Association, will be open during and after the telecast.

The report is titled "Hooked: Tracking Heroin's Hold on Arizona," and will air on all 32 TV stations in Phoenix, Tucson and Yuma and most of the state's radio stations. The segment will air at 6:30p.m. MST on most stations. There will be a Spanish-speaking version airing at 5:00p.m. MST on Telemundo and Univision.

As a specialized treatment facility for those currently dealing with and recovering from drug abuse, Sierra Tucson's staff is well equipped to assist those in need of personalized help and support.
