Sigma Designs' Homeplug AV With Clearpath Receives Two Prestigious Industry Awards

Revolutionary Home Networking Technology Is Named 2011 CES Innovations Award Honoree and TelcoTV Vision Award Winner

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - November 10, 2010) - Sigma Designs (NASDAQ: SIGM), a leading provider of system-on-chip (SoC) solutions for delivering entertainment and control throughout the home, today announced that it is the recipient of two prestigious industry awards. Sigma's HomePlug® AV with Clearpath™ (CG2110CP) has been named an International CES Innovations 2011 Design and Engineering Award Honoree in the Enabling Technology category. It was also named a TelcoTV Vision Award Winner.

HomePlug AV with ClearPath is a breakthrough home networking technology that enables unprecedented, carrier-class streaming of HD video, voice, and data over existing powerlines in the home. Sigma's chipset uses all three wires -- phase, neutral, and ground to deliver improved performance and up to twice the throughput. It is the only MIMO (multiple in, multiple out) solution available over powerline. Sigma's HomePlug AV with ClearPath gives substantially better coverage, throughput, and the ability to deliver HD where it is not possible today. Both ClearPath and MIMO over powerline are Sigma patented technologies.

"HomePlug AV with ClearPath is extraordinary technology and receiving these two awards further validates our commitment to developing game changing technology for home entertainment networking," said Gabi Hilevitz, vice president and general manager of Sigma Designs' Home Connectivity Group. "ClearPath's ability to find a way around 'noise' on the network enables our customers to extend coverage and support distribution of multiple HD streams throughout the home via existing powerlines -- something no other solution can offer today."

CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award
Products entered in the prestigious 2011 CES Innovations Design and Engineering Awards program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers, and members of the media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 35 product categories.

Sigma's HomePlug AV with ClearPath will be displayed at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which runs January 6-9, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Innovations Design and Engineering Showcase will feature honorees by product category in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Convention Center, and will also be featured at CES Unveiled: The Official Press Event of the International CES on Tuesday, January 4. Honoree products are also featured on the CES website, which lists product categories, as well as each product name, manufacturer information, designer, description, photo and URL.

TelcoTV Vision Award
The third annual TelcoTV Vision Awards recognize the most innovative and "visionary" new products, services, and applications announced in the communications industry in the past year. A distinguished panel of executives and analysts from the broadcast and telecommunications industries choose the winning products across eight categories.

The Homeplug AV with ClearPath solution, as well as other Sigma products, will be on display at Sigma's booth (Hall D; Booth 548) at TelcoTV from November 9-11, 2010.
