Sigma Systems to Offer Insights on Preparing the Back-Office for FTTH Deployments at 2012 FTTH Conference in Dallas

TORONTO--(Marketwire - Sep 13, 2012) - Sigma Systems, the authority in provisioning converged broadband, VoIP and IPTV services, will share its insights on leveraging OSS solutions to prepare the back-office for FTTH deployments at the 2012 FTTH Conference taking place September 23 - 27 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. The conference, hosted by the FTTH Council Americas, focuses on the latest in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) technologies, network design and business operations.

Sigma's vice president of product management, Rick Mallon, will deliver a session titled "Preparing Back-Office Systems to Support FTTH Networks," illustrating the necessity for operators to properly prepare their customer-facing and back-office systems to support a retail-oriented end-to-end process. Scheduled for Sunday, September 23 at 4:15pm, Mallon will outline steps for service providers to confront their most challenging obstacles as they ready their network infrastructure for expanding FTTH networks, including transformation from a utility model with a captive market to a retail model where consumers are demanding more personalized and specialized services.

"As the number of service providers initiating or expanding fiber-to-the-home networks rises, many telcos realize that back-office systems are the lynchpin to speed time-to-market for new services," said Tim Spencer, President and COO of Sigma Systems. "In this session, Mallon will share Sigma's real-life experience with provisioning FTTH networks and the steps needed to prepare back-office systems to confidently pursue a transition to IP video."
