Featuring a lighter and more compact form factor than its Sports counterpart, the 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG OS Contemporary carries many of the same features, such as water- and dust-proof construction, an Optical Stabilizer, and a Hyper Sonic Motor. The full-frame-compatible lens contains 20 elements in 14 groups, one of which is an FLD element, and three are SLD elements to minimize chromatic aberrations. This lens measures 4.1 x 10.2" and, like the Sports version, features a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:5. It will be available in Canon EF, Nikon F, Sigma SA, and Sony A mounts.

The new 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM lens is also a member of the Global Vision Contemporary line, and is designed for APS-C-sized sensors, for which it will provide an equivalent focal length of 27-450mm. The expansive zoom lens's optical design incorporates four FLD elements and one SLD element, to help minimize chromatic aberration while maintaining high sharpness and clarity. Sigma also incorporated a new Optical Stabilizer system to benefit handheld shooting and a Hyper Sonic Motor for fast and quiet autofocus. The lens features a minimum focusing distance of 15" and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3. To further extend the lens's macro capabilities, Sigma will offer a dedicated close-up adapter lens (AML72-01) to pair with this lens to increase the maximum magnification ratio to 1:2 while retaining the ability to focus at infinity. It will be available in Canon EF, Nikon F, and Sigma SA mounts, as well as Sony A and Pentax K mounts without image stabilization.

Alongside the lens releases are two Global Vision teleconverters: the TC-1401 1.4x and the TC-2001 2x. Both will be compatible with all Sigma Global Vision lenses, and are also splash and dust proof. The TC-1401 features one SLD element and the TC-2101 uses two SLD elements to maintain the optical quality of the original lens, and both also have a new power distribution system compatible with large-diameter Sigma lenses, to support AF at effective apertures up to f/8. They will be available in Canon EF, Nikon F, and Sigma SA mounts.

Finally, Sigma unveiled an addition to their Quattro series, the Sigma dp1 Quattro digital camera, featuring a 19mm (28mm equivalent) fixed lens, which provides a wider field of view than the previously released 30mm (45mm equivalent) found on thedp2 Quattro. The series is characterized by the use of an updated sensor and processor, as well as a unique body shape.

At the center of these cameras is the Foveon X3 Quattro direct image sensor, which differs from other sensor designs by its vertical design that stacks three layers of photodiodes, each devoted to a different RGB color. This enables the Quattro cameras to record hue, chroma, and color individually for each pixel, resulting in smoother gradations and sharper imagery. A side benefit of this design is that it does not require an optical low-pass filter.

Another advancement over Sigma's previous dp cameras is a focus on higher resolutions and lower noise. The APS-C size sensor features a 1:1:4 ratio of pixels from the bottom to top, which allows for the dramatic increase in the camera's effective resolution to 29 megapixels. However, when totaled, the individual photodiodes add up to 39 megapixels, when compared to a traditional Bayer-array sensor.

Processing the abundance of data created by the Foveon sensor is the TRUE (Three-layer Responsive Ultimate Engine) III processor, which utilizes specialized algorithms developed specifically for the dp Quattro line, to create rich 14-bit RAW images with a top sensitivity of ISO 6400.

Separating the dp1 from the rest of the line is, of course, its 19mm f/2.8 lens with a 28mm equivalent focal length. Its f/2.8 maximum aperture complements working in low-light conditions and the optical design incorporates an "F" Low Dispersion glass element and two glass mold aspherical lenses to minimize aberrations and distortions.

The elongated body of the dp Quattro line is designed for well-balanced handling and a secure grip. Composing and reviewing images is possible via the rear 3.0" 920k-dot LCD screen and two control dials, as well as a hot shoe, can be found on the top of the camera.
