Silent Disco Takes Off With bmibaby

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - Aug. 5, 2011) - bmibaby customers at East Midlands Airport recently got into the party spirit to celebrate the launch of bmibaby's new route, offering cheap flights to Ibiza.

The low cost airline treated passengers to a silent disco in the check-in hall at East Midlands Airport. Two professional DJs were on hand to pump out the tunes in the unique venue.

A silent disco is an event where people dance to music listened to on wireless headphones, rather than a speaker system. Those without the headphones hear no music, giving the effect of people dancing to nothing.

More than 100 revellers took to the floor, made the most of the tunes and started their holidays early.

Julian Carr, managing director, bmibaby, said:

"We are always looking for ways to entertain our customers and with the launch of our new route to Ibiza we thought it was only appropriate to bring the famous Ibizan party spirit to East Midlands Airport. Everyone enjoyed themselves and it certainly got the customers in the holiday groove."

bmibaby commenced flights to Ibiza from East Midlands Airport on Saturday 28 May 2011, with fares starting from £55.99 one way including taxes.
