Siluria Technologies Appoints Guido Radaelli VP of Engineering

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Jul 9, 2013) - Siluria Technologies, which develops technology and processes for transforming natural gas into chemicals and fuels, announced today the appointment of Guido Radaelli to the position of Vice President of Engineering. Mr. Radaelli will manage Siluria's engineering team and lead the company's technology scale-up efforts. He will report to Siluria Chief Executive Officer Ed Dineen directly.

Over the last two decades, Guido has led design and implementation of major new and retrofit projects for the world's leading petrochemical companies from the bidding process to plant commissioning and operations. He has over 15 years of both domestic and international experience with process development and project execution in developing new technologies in both renewable and petrochemical spaces.

"Guido's appointment to this position is strong indication of where Siluria is in our development. We are moving from primarily an R&D effort to scaling up the technology, building a demonstration unit, and scoping out and designing our technology offerings in the ethylene and fuels industries. All of this requires a broader engineering effort. We have been building our team in both numbers and specific competencies and Guido is the ideal choice to lead the effort," said Mr. Dineen.

"Developing catalytic technologies that could directly convert natural gas, one of the most abundant and available resources worldwide, into fuels and chemicals has long been an extremely challenging proposition, both from a technical and a commercial standpoint. The fact that Siluria has reached such a degree of demonstration for its breakthrough technologies creates a unique opportunity for their rapid and broad deployment into a variety of markets. I can only be excited to be a part of this world-class effort and to play a key role in the scale-up and commercialization of the company's proprietary processes," said Mr. Radaelli.

Mr. Radaelli previously served as Vice President of Engineering at Aurora BioFuels Inc. He also worked for Casale Group. He started his career in Casale's Process Engineering Department, where he developed expertise across all aspects of chemical plant design. He then gained managerial experience while leading Casale's R&D department. During his time at Casale Group, Mr. Radaelli directed interdisciplinary teams, managed multi-million dollar R&D projects and partnered with leading academic institutions and engineering companies. He holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley and an MS with honors in Chemical Engineering from Politecnico of Milan in Italy.
