Siluria Technologies Selected as an Energy Innovation Pioneer by IHS CERA

Company Developing an Industrial Process for Increasing the Value of Natural Gas

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - Mar 6, 2012) - Siluria Technologies has been named an Energy Innovation Pioneer by IHS CERA, one of the world's leading energy research firms. The company, which is developing a process for transforming natural gas into value-added fuels and chemicals, will be recognized at the CERAWeek 2012, taking place March 5 through 9 in Houston.

Every year, IHS CERA selects a small number of companies to provide an overview of potentially game-changing technologies at CERAWeek, its premiere energy conference. Siluria's process converts natural gas -- the world's most abundant hydrocarbon -- into higher value products such as transportation fuels, commodity chemicals, and performance materials. Although produced from natural gas, these hydrocarbons are chemically identical to those manufactured from crude oil. The difference is cost: while oil has climbed above $100 a barrel, natural gas prices continue to decline because of expanding supplies.

"We are very proud to be acknowledged by IHS CERA," said Alex Tkachenko, Ph.D., Siluria's President. "Substituting natural gas for oil will dramatically improve the economics of some of the largest industries in the world."
